DISCUSSIONS – ANSWERS – ANNOUNCEMENTS

a.  3rd Thursday RECYCLING, 2/20/20, 9-11 a.m. Got Valentine’s candy wrappers & gift boxes to dispose of?  We’ve got just the place to take care of that problem:  our large bags for recyclables will be set up in front of Baja’s Awesome Beach Rides (horse corral), just north of La Casita restaurant for our 3rd Thursday Pop-up.  Please bring your crushed plastics, aluminum, metals & cardboard broken down and bundled (sorry, no glass) and a $100 peso donation.  Join your neighbors & help preserve our beautiful Baja environment! Want to volunteer?  Questions?  Email info@eastcaperecycling.com   Gracias from East Cape Recycling & Environmental Education!

b.  AMBULANCES  Looks like we need an honest discussion about ambulance transportation and the cost.  Please, NO opinions or second hand info, just the FACTS.  The BPE is not FB!  If you have hard truths that are no less than 6 months old, please send it in.  Who are our ambulance companies and need phone numbers.  This is what I have listed in the BPE Directory:

  1. Ambulance – BV –  Marco Ortiz  –  044-624-108-7559

  2. Ambulance – East Cape Health Center 624-157-0081

  3. Ambulance – LB  East Cape Ambulance Los Barriles 141-0797

Are the vehicles equipped with necessary medical equipment  to treat stroke, heart attack, severe bleeding, oxygen, IV solutions?  When I broke my hip, I “hopped” into our car because I did not want to pay some $1200+ for a trip to San Jose which under the circumstances was just fine.  This is too important to ignore any longer.

And while I’m on a roll……….does everyone have their personal current emergency info. either on the refrigerator door or inside the cupboard closest to the refrigerator?  And in the glove compartment.  Some call it ICE “In Case of Emergency”.  Someone has to have access to this info, family phone numbers and relationship, insurance, allergies, ect.  This can also be a listing on your cell phone.  ICE Mom, husband or.  So important.  I have  friends that it took over 3 days to identify their adult son and be notified.  Be careful out there………..and enjoy the warming trend.  Cheryl
