a. Are you in Los Barriles and need to get to San Diego, (or anywhere else in the USA) but won’t fly now? A new service for our community is now available. We will safely transport you, your family or group up to 4 via Mexican Highway 1 in a Suburban. The standard road trip is 2 days, about 10 hours each, with an overnight stop in Guerro Negro and drop off in San Diego County the next day. A custom trip with a different pick up point in BCS or drop off point in the USA or a larger group is available, including pick up in the USA and drop off in BCS. b. Almost every single car rental agency in the U.S. is now represented at the Los Cabos airport, and all you have to do is go online and Google “Car rentals Los Cabos Airport” and you can pretty much take your pick. Make SURE that you get the international link. You WILL NOT want to rent without at least liability insurance, but you will be pressured to get full coverage, and it’s not a bad idea, considering you will be held accountable for any damage regardless of fault, but while you might get the daily car rental for $8 or $10, the insurance could be $20 to $40 a day more!!! Weekly rates are cheaper, and make sure you shop the various agencies, since those that have a physical structure at the airport are more expensive than those that have a shuttle to an off-airport office. Make sure you inspect the vehicle with the agent before you drive off and make sure that all damage, including windshield chips, are noted on the inspection sheet. Bill

d. During the last days of February, I was in Baja Sur, and saw a very tiny hummingbird. I’ve been coming here for the last 15 years and I’ve never seen this bird. It was about 1.0 inch to maybe 1.50 inches long. So far, I haven’t been able to identify the species. Does anyone know what it is? No, I didn’t have my phone within reach so I have no photo.
