a.  **Los Barriles Food Bank Update: 12 May 2020**As we increase our stocks, we have now expanded into the Modelorama next door – thank you Silvia! We are also storing in the East Cape Bicicleta store opposite the LB Food Bank HQ.
Thank you to Sergio’s ATVs and also QuadMan for lending us extra trailers for deliveries in addition to Quad Girl’s generous loan of ATVs and trailer.This week our numbers rose to 814 households – so to give you some idea of the scale, your donations are going towards feeding approx 3,500 good people across our Los Barriles region.We originally thought we would be supporting up to 700 households, but the situation has been fluid. We are going to see our numbers increasing well above this figure for a few weeks as we hit the peak of the job loss impact. We then we expect these figures to decrease as construction and then other industries gradually return to work. Unfortunately we expect that those impacted by the collapse in tourism will need support on a longer basis.

As you know the Los Barriles Food Bank is focused on feeding people.  However, we have also been helping out by delivering dog food – we delivered to 750 households this week. None of the money raised by the Los Barriles Food Bank goes towards the dog food. However, if you would like to donate to dog food for the locals, then please visit Cortez Rescue’s web page. Make sure that you include the words: “Dog Foods for Locals” in the messaging area. Cortez Rescue is a credible and accountable 501c3 (US) so you are also able to obtain a tax efficient receipt.
