COVID INFO

a.  The Southern Baja state’s health ministry has decided to let additional businesses and activities open as the number of infections and deaths has decreased in the past two weeks.  Those approved to operate are boat trips, sport fishing, car wash facilities, furniture stores, electronic stores, jewelry and cosmetic shops, cell phone repair and sales stores, shoe repair as well as movie theaters, gyms, sport centers and churches all with a limited capacity of no more than 40% of its capacity.  Restaurants will be allowed to use 40% of its capacity.  Courtesy of the Gringo Gazette

**LOS BARRILES FOOD BANK: URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT**

We are sorry to announce that we will not be making any further Los Barriles Food Bank deliveries until Wednesday 9th September.

One of our team members has tested positive for COVID-19. You will be pleased to know that they are recovering well and have only mild symptoms. This volunteer works behind the scenes so is NOT on the front-line making deliveries.

However, we still need to implement strict protocols to ensure that we’re not putting anyone else at risk including:

• Two weeks shut down for the Los Barriles Food Bank (deliveries will start again on Wednesday 9th September – we will issue a revised schedule beforehand).
• Testing for those that came into close contact with this volunteer.
• The Los Barriles Food Bank Head Office will be closed for the same duration.
• Thorough cleaning of the Head Office and storage facilities.

This is a reminder to everyone that masks, washing hands and social distancing are vital if we are to beat this virus. Otherwise it will continue to affect us and we won’t be able to get back to our normal lives.

Please remember the simple steps to prevent making this contagion any worse: Mask or face covering/ Social distance/ Avoid crowds/ Wash your hands frequently, use sanitizer.
