Sad News: I wanted to let the group know that Max Maldonado died yesterday from complications of Covid. Max was a long time resident of the area, born in Santiago and living in El Campamento at the time of his passing. He was 62 years old. To many people in the Los Barriles area he was the “tamale man”, selling the tamales his sister Mariana made in El Campamento to tourists and residents on the beaches and roads in and around Los Barriles. To some he was a gardener, land clearer, fence repairman, etc. To us, he was a friend. He will be sorely missed. Chuck and Debbie Whitt
