  1.  Rats!!! My dear wife gave me a drone for Christmas and I was trying to take it up for its maiden voyage on the beach in the arroyo just south of Hermosa.  Not being an aeronautical engineer, I’m less than an expert and the last I saw it was headed southwest over the homes in the hermosa neighborhood.  It would not return to me no matter how I swore at it.  It was headed towards Esmeralda and maybe even the pickle ball court.  Please if you find it (about 6” across, black, 4 propellers) respond to this plea. – doradobob@hotmail.com

  1.   Many of you have asked why Yoga Garden Studio has been closed for this coming week.  Since there has been a spike in Covid cases in our town, I made the decision because a large percentage of our students are over 60, one will be 92 at the end of this month! (Al, you know who you are!!) Safety, health and well-being are our top priorities and all of the instructors at our studio hope that we all stay well and we will (hopefully!) see you again on the 17th of January.  Session 2 will be extended to reflect this pause in classes. – jackiereeves1002@gmail.com

The East Cape Epic bicycle race: The chance for you and your team mate to push one another to ride faster, and where your entry fee, thanks to great work by the East Cape Guild, goes to help local students study further. The race is open to riders of all abilities and there are two classes of bike, e-bike and conventional. Team mates must be on similar class bikes and must start and finish the race together. The route is 12 miles with approximately half the distance on pavement and half on desert track road. Wednesday February 2, 2022. Race starts at 8:00 at the access road on the outside and north of the gate to Playa Norte RV Park. Registration table is open 7:00-7:45, pay fee – 500 pesos per rider, and receive race numbers at that time.
