Note: Emma went to H today and gave blood. The staff didn’t give out much info only that Tessa is in ICU and she could not see her. Also, they NEED more O neg. blood. It is necessary to call H and make an appointment for early Monday morning. Don’t eat or drink anything beforehand. Must be under 65 yrs. FISHING REPORT

  1.  One of the longest-tenured charter boat captains in Mexico’s Baja East Cape region, Jesus Araiza held a remarkable front row seat to the evolution of Baja sportfishing stretching back to 1955. Not only was he one of the first “tag & release” captains in the East Cape area, but he was also awarded the High Skipper Award for “tag & release” 19 different years during his career. His reputation as one of the top captains at the “Ranch” was legend, and he was so popular that he was often booked several seasons in advance. Jesus retired in 2008 from Hotel Buenavista Beach Resort, a neighboring hotel, leaving the day-to-day fishing to his sons. Today, his grandson, Tony, captains the “Retriever,” a 66-foot Viking fishing out of Cabo San Lucas. Sadly, Araiza passed away at age 79 on April 8, 2021, quietly at his home in Los Barriles, BCS, surrounded by family members.

  1.   Announcing the first “Project Collaboration 2022”! With safety foremost in our minds, there are new roadway signs erected from just north of La Casita Restaurant to the north side of the Buenos Aires arroyo. The signs encourage drivers to use caution, drive slowly, be sensible and care for our community. There are speed limits that should be honored and the Mayor would like to share them: between La Casita Restaurant to the south side of the arroyo, the speed limit is 15 mph. It’s a sensible speed to drive as there is congestion, construction traffic, horses, dogs, bikers, all using the roads. A new ‘tope falso’ has been striped to caution drivers to control their speed; one of the new signs is erected there. Driving across the arroyo, the speed limit is 30 mph. On the north side of the arroyo it returns again to 15 mph until the north side of the North Beach arroyo where it returns to 30 mph. This “Project Collaboration 2022,” is sponsored by Baja’s Awesome in partnership with Los Barriles Mayor Francisco “Pancho” Silva.   1.   We had a perfect morning for a bike race, cool with clouds.  Five teams made it to the starting, and finish lines.  All riders were on Acoustic bikes and the winners made the 12 mile course in just over an hour and donated their prize purse back to the cause. 6200 pesos were donated to the East Cape Guild. Additionally there have been other parties who contacted me interested in making donations and I sent them directly to the Guild’s web page donate now link.
