  17. Shake down for 4,000 pesos by national guard about 10k south of Santa Rita. He took my license and said I could go back to La Paz (70 miles) or pay a 6,000 peso fine. Negotiated to 4,000 pesos and got my license back. I’ve had similar episodes and insisted to go to police station and ticket was dropped. No time today to travel back to La Paz.
