Windows will end support for Windows XP this April 8th, 2014. When
that happens, all free support for XP will end including support for
Windows Security Essentials for XP. In English - after that date you
will no longer receive security patches to that XP operating system
nor updates for their free anti-virus for XP. Active support for
Windows Vista has already begun to wind down. If you continue to use
XP after that date, the security of your system will be at risk to
attacks from the bad guys. You would need to switch your anti-virus
to an alternate program such as AVG or Avast or a paid service . If
you continue to use XP beyond that date, it will still work as
before but without a comfortable level of security. If you only
check email and surf the web, you might be just fine. If you choose
that route, never open an attachment or click on a link!!! If you
use XP for Banking or other Secure services, you may (and I
emphasize MAY) be at risk. If you have XP, you may want to think
